We eagerly
await the start of fall classes on September 13th.
We would like to welcome all new and returning students
for the 2010-2011 dance year! Students will have opportunities
to experience new and exciting challenges this season.
We will be attending NADAA conventions in October
and March in New York. This day long event is open
to students ages 8 and up that study ballet, tap and
jazz. We will also attend the three day summer convention
in July.
Once again this year, students in grades 4-12 are
invited to audition for cast and chorus parts in our
recital production. Auditions will take place on October
16th. Students will be expected to dance, sing, and
read lines. Specific audition information is posted
on the bulletin board at the studio.
Our young dancers will be invited to perform a holiday
showcase for residents of Knoll Heights Village. Rehearsals
and all preparation will be done during regular classes.
In January students ages 14 and up that qualify will
be given the opportunity to dance with the New York
City Ballet at Lincoln Center. Included in the days
events will be class with the company, followed by
a tour of the rehearsal hall, performance hall, stage
facility and costume shop. In addition students will
meet a lead dancer and later watch that dancer on
stage in a performance.
Tap students ages 10 and up are invited to attend
the NYC Rockette Experience at Radio City Music Hall,
in March. Included in this trip is a tour of Radio
City, classes in tap, jazz and kick lines taught by
a Rockette, mock auditions, and a Q&A session
with a Rockette.
The second weekend of June is our 19th annual recital.
Each year our students have the opportunity to show
what they've learned and perform for family and friends
at Wallkill H.S. in Hamburg.
In the month of August we will again be performing
in The Hershey Park Talent Quest in Hershey, PA. This
performance will be followed by a fun filled day in
the amusement park by the dancers and their families.
We are looking forward to many exciting endeavors
this dance season!!!
